Beads of Life
The love of beads must be hereditary: My parents opened Bead World, Inc. i n Palatine, IL when I was nine years old. I spent a lot of time there growing up learning the history of, and gaining an appreciation for beaded jewelry from around the world. I, of course started making jewelry in my spare time and the store was, and still is, the perfect playground for my imagination.
I make jewelry out of anything fine I can get my hands on! My pieces are a fusion of unusual glass beads, semi precious stone, fine gems, pearls, metals, and various vintage items.
My current fascination is with wire. About two years ago my dad showed  me a few basic techniques and off I went into the vast world of wire wrapped jewelry. Inspired by thought, music, and, well-being, my passion for creating truly unique jewelry continues to grow.

We Divas think that Despina is WAY too modest! Her wire wrapping technique is amazing. We feel that her pieces evoke a sensual organic/nouveau feel. We love the textures, colors, and are SURE that you will enjoy wearing her pieces.
Despina suggests keeping the pieces in a plastic bag to minimize tarnishing, although she loves the patina look. She tells us that the pieces may be cleaned with a jeweler’s cloth to keep them bright if you wish.
